At Stahmann Farms we understand what it takes to grow pecans organically. We successfully converted our 60 acre farm, Las Piedras, near Gatton to organic status before selling the property in 2008. This was after Deane Stahmann Jnr paved the way for organic farming through the development of an integrated pest management methodology for tree crops in Australia in the 1990s.
We know that organic farming takes effort, patience and investment – and above all a great commitment – to best practice natural farming methods, and we recognise that growers who achieve and maintain organic status can warrant a fair return for their efforts.
Our processing plant in Toowoomba has been accredited for organics since 1992 and since then we have handled organic nuts for dozens of dedicated growers.
Today we continue to work with a number of organic growers Australia wide to bring their high quality product to the market. If you want to join us in organic pecans, there really is no better spot to be.
